I have just begun to scratch the surface if this whole digital photography world. I spent Easter Sunday in the basement with found materials and can't keep from thinking that I'm shooting film. Yet with the digital cameras I have more latitude to create what I want without the restrictions of the past.
I can see how the digital tools I now have can be both a freedom from the chains of the past, and a jailer that keeps you from striving to produce the best image possible in the camera because of the new post-production tools at hand.
My primary goal with this new realm of photography is to create the best possible image as far as I can in camera and use the post-production tools at hand only to fix the mistakes I didn't recognize at the time. I will learn from those mistakes and strive to be as technically proficient as possible without loosing sight of the artist inside.
How am I doing so far?
